There has been lots of talk about citizen journalism in recent years and the emergence of blogs and comment facilities on mainstream news sites has allowed many a new angle to emerge on a running story.
Critics often point to the fact that citizen journalists rarely break a new story or deliver real ‘news’. The clip below from iReport.com, a spin off from CNN, is a fantastic example of how being in the right place at the right time with a video phone can genuinely put you on the national news agenda. Turn the volume up as this pizza delivery man gives a unique commentary on the tornado he is filming.
He published his footage raw on Ireport and it ended up on CNN news globally!
