Faith and supersticion in Knock
Posted on November 4th, 2009 No commentsThe unanimous view of those within earshot of my untidy desk this morning was to reflect the events down at Knock.
Is this an expression of faith in modern Ireland or the revival of superstition in this ancient Celtic land?
It’s not the first time Knock has been in the headlines.
Here is a report from May 28th 1986 when US TV reported on the new airport down at Knock and the Christy Moore committed the whole thing to song (also in the report). Of course this act of faith has turned into a sustainable business.
The question is will this week’s events still be remembered in 23 years time?
