Conall McDevitt is the SDLP MLA (select) for South Belfast.

Born in Dublin he spent his formative years in Malaga, Spain. He was Director of Communications for the SDLP in Northern Ireland from 1996 to 1999 a time that included the negotiations running up to the Good Friday Agreement, subsequent referendum and assembly elections. He served as a Special Adviser in the first Power Sharing Executive in the North of Ireland, advising the Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development.

Conall loves Dublin, his native county and its gaelic football team. He also loves Manchester United and Real Madrid. A fun runner he has completed the Dublin, London and Belfast Marathons not quite as fast as he would like.

He is a committed ‘New Irelander’ who believes Northern Ireland is the place to be and John Hume is the greatest Irishman alive!
