Death of Michael Dennehy FPRII
Posted on July 9th, 2009 No commentsThe man who managed the mediarelations for the Pope’s visit to Ireland has died. Michael Dennehy FPRII passed away yesterday at the age of 61 following a short illness. The Public Relations Institute of Ireland paid the following tribute to him.
Michael, both a Fellow and a former President of the Institute, passed away yesterday in Our Lady’s Hospice, Harold’s Cross, Dublin. Michael was best known for his work with Waterford Crystal and Waterford Wedgwood, where he provided corporate consultancy for over 37 years, but other clients included the Irish Medical Organisation, the Rose of Tralee Festival, Irish Steel and the Department of Education. He also ran the press office which was set up for the visit of Pope John Paul II to Ireland in 1979.
Funeral arrangements will be published tomorrow.
